Performance
Types of Therapy:
Counseling
Do limiting beliefs impact your well-being, work, athletic, or academic performance? Or are you a high achiever who wants to expand your potential and optimize performance? If anxiety, self-doubt, or self-criticism ever limit you, mental performance counseling can help you manifest courage, garner self-trust, compete with heart, and build a powerful belief system. I spent two decades teaching athletes how to step back from the unhelpful chatter (yours, others), access their intuition, and free their mind to believe in themselves again. Performance is my jam. It is my belief the answers are within you and together we identify and work on what is blocking you, so you can reach your goals and highest self. Performance counseling is about success on your terms; career, athletic or academic.
Performance Areas
In all phases of life we find opportunities to grow and expand our abilities. These are some areas I have expertise to come alongside and support you to better performance.

Young athletes have many first experiences unique to athletics. They often find their first experiences with correction, failure and disappointment. How they respond to these early events often set the stage to how they respond to many events in their future. This is where I focus heavily on a growth mindset. As a previous athletic coach, I understand the impact on self-worth and self-confidence that comes with performance evaluation and sports related experiences. The goal of these sessions are to allow the athlete to see the perceived failure as a step towards success and an opportunity to build resilience not an internalized belief about self. Athletes will use multiple perspectives and gain coping skills that transfer to the court and beyond. Performance counseling is tailored to the needs of the athlete but can include goal setting, improving communication skills, building self esteem, stress management, navigating social and team dynamics.

If you are looking to improve your career but feel stuck, performance counseling can help you elevate your game. There are many soft skills that can be improved on or acquired in sessions such as improved ability to lead, ability to impact a team, communicate more effectively, and utilize active listening to develop better interpersonal relationships. We will identify and discuss your unique goals and how to achieve them. If changing careers or positions is the topic, through counseling sessions I can help you navigate that journey which is often filled with stress and uncertainty. I am familiar with a career change later in life.

This is certainly a time where academic achievement has become extremely competitive vying for rankings and scholarships. Young adults can be negatively impacted by these stressors and unable to perform at their best in school. Counseling can help students by using a growth mindset to look at challenges and setbacks in a new positive way. These sessions can include identifying underlying issues, poor time management, lack of motivation, and test anxiety. By fostering a positive mindset and equipping students with the tools they need to succeed, counseling empowers them to take ownership of their learning, leading to improved grades, better study habits and an overall boost in academic performance. Through counseling, I will provide a supportive environment where students can discuss their concerns, while helping them build resilience enhancing their academic success, well-being, and overall personal development.
